ABOUT KIM MERCER

Kim Mercer was born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago.
Introduced to the world of advertising through Eddie Murphy's 1992 romantic comedy, "Boomerang," she dreamed of one day becoming her very own Jacqueline Broyer...minus the shoulder pads.
Having a natural inclination for production early on, Kim sought out numerous internships in Chicago (Burrell Communications Group) and New York (Gotham, Inc.) to strengthen her craft.
Upon receiving her Bachelor of Journalism (emphasis in Advertising in Strategic Communication) from the University of Missouri in 2009, she was accepted into Interpublic Group's InterAct Associates Fellowship Program; a two-year rotational fellowship focused on developing top advertising talent with multi-disciplinary experience. In 2011, she transitioned to Leo Burnett where she produced broadcast, digital and print content for a number of respected brands including Pfizer, McDonald's, Allstate and Kellogg's. In 2017, she brought her talents to Spark Foundry where she played a key role in the integration of content strategy and activation into communications planning for large, high-profile clients including Bel Brands, Daisy Brand, Crate & Barrel, Great Wolf Resorts, KFC, Novo Nordisk and New York Life. In 2020, she transitioned to FCB Chicago as Director of Engagement Planning, serving as an effective bridge between creative solutions and tactical executions, spearheading communication plans and ecosystems to deliver optimal business results.

Currently, Kim serves as Vice President, Branded Content & Strategic Partnerships at Hero Media, building brands via impactful strategies and innovative creative solutions that inform culturally connected content and experiences.
Kim returned to her suburban roots where she currently resides with her husband TJ and their two children Jackson and Harper. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching re-runs of Law & Order, and serving as Media Director at her church home.
