KFC + drunk history
In partnership with Comedy Central, we joined forces to create a program for KFC that educated fans about the most notorious chicken ambassador in US History: Colonel Sanders. We tapped into Comedy Central’s Emmy Award winning show Drunk History to create branded content that seamlessly integrated the playful brand personality and messaging of KFC. We worked directly with the Drunk History show team including co-creators Derek Waters and Jeremy Konner along with the producers, costume designers, set designers, music composer, etc. to bring the creative to life. Derek Waters starred in the spot. Reoccurring Drunk History guest Steve Berg served as the narrator and actor/comedian Steve Agee starred as Colonel Sanders. The full piece aired on linear as the show’s first ever pod takeover (2:30 minutes) which filled the first break of the show’s season finale. It then launched on digital and social platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and O&O sites. The program delivered 58K engagements, 6 million video views and over 21 million impressions on CC, Drunk History and KFC’s social platforms.
